Drawing the images on the monuments is done either directly on the monument stone or on smaller granite plates in various shapes. These plates are made of the top quality black granite. They are especially used if the monument stone is not dark enough for engraving or it contains a lighter color grain. The granite plates can be rectangular, square, oval, hexagonal or heart shaped. Any kind of image or letttering can be engraved on the granite.
